Exploring the Vision of Francesco Zippel and De Sica's Cinematic Impact

Directed by Francesco Zippel, who previously presented "Oscar Micheaux – The Superhero of Black Filmmaking" at the same festival section in 2021, this new documentary meticulously examines De Sica's extensive body of work and his lasting influence. De Sica, a four-time Oscar winner, is celebrated for his masterpieces such as "The Bicycle Thief," "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow," and "Two Women."

Exclusive Access and Insights into a Cinematic Master

For this project, Zippel was granted unparalleled access to the De Sica family archives, unearthing previously unseen historical materials. "Vittorio De Sica – Staging Life" also features exclusive interviews with prominent filmmakers and actors, including Wes Anderson (who also serves as executive producer), Isabella Rossellini, Ruben Östlund, Asghar Farhadi, and Andrey Zvyagintsev.
