Forging a Path for Creative Growth: The Goldfinch International and Fablemill Alliance
Goldfinch International and Fablemill have initiated a strategic partnership to advise governments, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional investors. Their collective goal is to cultivate vibrant creative economies across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Asia, and Africa.
The Four Pillars of the Advisory Framework: Structuring Success in Creative Economies
This innovative platform is built upon four core principles: crafting government policies and incentive programs, offering institutional investment guidance, fostering local creative businesses, and facilitating market entry for international entities. Goldfinch International contributes its extensive background in structured finance, boasting over $300 million deployed across hundreds of projects with a flawless default record and strong returns. Fablemill, a consultancy and production firm based in the Middle East, brings invaluable regional connections from more than 40 successful engagements and high-level strategic expertise from leading consulting firms.
Addressing Systemic Gaps: Building Deployable Capital Ecosystems
Phil McKenzie, co-founder and COO of Goldfinch, highlighted the partnership's crucial role. He noted that while exploring emerging markets for capital deployment, the real opportunity lay in constructing the foundational systems necessary for effective investment. These include policies, incentive structures, and institutional frameworks that are often nascent or absent in many parts of the Global South. This partnership is specifically designed to bridge these gaps, creating environments where capital can be successfully deployed and nurtured.
Leveraging Existing Success: Debt Fund and Creator Economy Ventures
The joint platform will integrate an existing $20 million emerging markets debt fund, established in 2025 with Friday Industries, which already has a qualified pipeline of approximately $100 million. Furthermore, Vault47, a branded content and creator economy initiative co-developed by Goldfinch and Virtue, will serve as a successful blueprint for the types of businesses the platform intends to develop throughout the region.
Expanding Global Reach: Mandates and Forthcoming Announcements
The firms are actively engaged with multiple African governments, focusing on creative economy policy development. A significant partnership in West Africa is anticipated to be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, further updates on Goldfinch International's collaboration with Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy will be shared at Cannes. Goldfinch International is also a founding member of the Commonwealth Creative Industries Alliance, a pan-Commonwealth initiative spanning 56 nations, with a public launch slated for August.
A Vision for the Future: The Global South's Cultural Renaissance
Eman Alsabah, founder and CEO of Fablemill, articulated a powerful vision for the Global South. She believes these regions are on the cusp of a cultural renaissance, driven by demographic shifts, increasing digital adoption, and a collective ambition to become global leaders in creative economies. This confluence of factors is poised to usher in a new and exciting chapter for global culture originating from the Global South.
Key Gatherings and Collaborations: Cannes Film Festival Event
During the Cannes Film Festival, Goldfinch International and Fablemill will co-host an exclusive event at the harbor. This gathering will convene senior representatives from film commissions, government advisory bodies, fund managers, studios, and technology founders from MENA, Southeast Asia, Africa, and South Asia. The event is generously supported by Parrot Analytics and co-sponsored by the government of Côte d’Ivoire, along with SICA – Salon International du Contenu Audiovisuel d’Abidjan 2026.
